Gourmet meals for seniors — real food, real protein, zero cooking
Foober delivers chef-made meals that happen to be exactly what older adults are told to eat more of: protein. Every meal carries 35–55g with no added sugar, arrives chilled (never frozen), keeps about 5 days in the fridge, and heats in 3 minutes — restaurant-style dishes, not "aged care food". Order for yourself, or set up a weekly delivery for a parent from anywhere.

- Chef-made dishes delivered chilled, never frozen, with about 5 days of fridge life.
- Full ingredients, allergens and macros on every label and meal page.
- Families can order to a parent's address and set a weekly routine — no lock-in.
Why protein matters more after 60
From our 60s onward, muscle is progressively lost unless it is actively defended — the medical term is sarcopenia — and the two defences that general nutrition guidance keeps pointing to are resistance activity and eating enough protein, spread across the day. For older adults, common guidance sits at the HIGHER end of per-meal protein targets, roughly 25–40g per main meal, precisely when appetite and cooking energy tend to drop.
That mismatch — needing more protein while cooking less — is the gap Foober happens to fill well. Every meal on the menu clears 35g of protein without the senior in question having to plan, shop or cook for it. This is general nutrition information, not medical advice: for individual guidance, especially alongside medical conditions or medications, a GP or an Accredited Practising Dietitian is the right resource.
Real food, zero cooking
Foober meals are complete single-serve dishes — roasts, curries, pastas, fish — cooked by chefs in Sydney and delivered chilled. Nothing to assemble, no pots, no oven: three minutes in the microwave and each label carries its own simple heating instructions plus a clear use-by date.
Every meal page and label lists the full ingredients, allergen declarations and the complete nutrition panel. Dishes vary in texture the way restaurant food does — the menu shows exactly what each meal is, so softer options like braises and risottos are easy to spot. Foober does not currently offer a texture-modified range.
How families use Foober for parents
The most common pattern: an adult child sets up the account, chooses the meals (or teaches Mum or Dad the menu over a cuppa), and sets the delivery address to the parent's home. A weekly recurring order keeps the fridge stocked automatically, weeks can be skipped when family is visiting, and there is no lock-in contract. Delivery notes at checkout cover building access and where to leave the chilled box.
Home Care Packages, Support at Home and NDIS
Government funding for meals is program-specific, so here is the honest lay of the land. NDIS participants: Foober already works with self-managed and plan-managed participants — the NDIS meal delivery page covers how ordering and invoicing work. Home Care Package and Support at Home recipients: whether ready-made meal costs are claimable (and what portion) depends on your package level, provider and care plan — self-managed participants have the most flexibility, and your package provider is the right place to confirm before ordering. Foober provides itemised receipts suitable for claim paperwork.
Delivery days
Foober delivers chilled across Greater Sydney (typically Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday), Greater Melbourne including Geelong (typically Monday, Tuesday and Saturday) and Brisbane including the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast (typically Monday) — plus regional runs including Newcastle/Central Coast, Wollongong and Canberra (typically Tuesday). Exact days, fees and cutoffs for any address are confirmed by postcode at checkout.

Frequently asked questions
Are Foober meals suitable for seniors?
They suit older adults who want normal, restaurant-style food with serious protein (35–55g per meal) and zero cooking. Every meal lists full ingredients, allergens and macros. For individual dietary needs — medical conditions, medications, or swallowing difficulties — check with a GP or dietitian first; Foober does not offer a texture-modified range.
Can I order Foober for my parents from another city?
Yes. Set the delivery address to their home at checkout, add any access notes for the driver, and optionally make it a weekly recurring order. You manage everything from your account; the meals arrive at theirs.
Can a Home Care Package pay for Foober meals?
It depends on the package and care plan. Self-managed HCP and Support at Home participants often have flexibility to claim part of meal costs, but rules vary — confirm with your package provider first. Foober provides itemised receipts for claim paperwork. NDIS participants: see the NDIS meal delivery page.
How hard are the meals to prepare?
Three minutes in a microwave — no oven, pots or knife work. Each label carries its own heating instructions and a clear use-by date, and meals keep around 5 days in the fridge.
Is there a subscription or contract?
No lock-in. Order one-off whenever needed, or set a weekly delivery and skip weeks any time — useful when family visits or appointments change the week.
